David Mapa

STEAM Coordinator

David Mapa joined Foundation for a College Education as the Volunteer and Community Engagement Coordinator in December 2020. After months of extraordinary contributions to FCE, David became the STEAM coordinator in October 2021. During his time at the College of San Mateo he served as the President of the Mana program which was dedicated to the advocacy of pursuing higher education amongst Oceania/Pacific Island students. After he transferred to the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a focus in Pacific Island Studies. He recently finished an internship at Facebook as a Project Coordinator for Diversity and Inclusion Programs in recruiting. He is a community building enthusiast from East Palo Alto, California actively thinking on how to empower future scholars, especially from East Palo Alto. His ancestral roots reign from the Kingdom of Tonga, organically providing a strong foundation for his core values of being passionate, empathetic and resilient.
