Eric Richert is a retired architect who has been very involved with FCE’s space planning over the past year. He spent 18 years in private architectural practice including 11 years as owner/partner; 17 years in the corporate world developing work environments; and 12 years as a consultant developing work environments. He has served on several nonprofit boards, including Zonta (a program serving autistic children), Leadership Midpeninsula (a leadership education program serving Palo Alto, East Palo Alto and Menlo Park) and the Coyote Point Museum for Environmental Education. In addition, Eric has served on the Menlo Park Planning Commission (1980’s) and the Kirkwood Meadows Public Utility District Board of Directors (2009-2021). In addition to his current space planning work for FCE, Eric is also serving on a Kirkwood committee considering the future of the community’s fire department. He holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from Syracuse University and an MBA from UC Berkeley.
Eric has become acquainted with FCE’s programs by working with Paul Resnick, Elizabeth and several of FCE’s staff on FCE’s space needs. He notes, “This process has given me some familiarity with FCE’s mission and priorities. I agree that education is a “powerful tool” that can provide opportunities that might not otherwise exist for young people. I would be pleased to support FCE and the students it serves.”
