Terry Gutierrez

Program Manager, College Bound

Terry Gutierrez first joined FCE in 2017 serving as a College Bound Program Coordinator before returning in June 2021 as the College Bound Program Manager. Terry is from Compton, CA and was a first-generation college student graduating from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor’s degree in Ethnic Studies. At UC San Diego Terry worked for college access and social justice programs while supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts throughout Greek life and by student of color coalitions.

Along with 8 years of college guidance experience, participating in college bound programs as a child of immigrant parents from a low-income community like East Palo Alto, Terry comes to FCE understanding the importance of holistic support for youth of color in a college bound environment. Terry looks forward to empowering FCE youth in learning life skills, gaining professional development, and increasing emotional intelligence through a social justice lenses while working with 11th and 12th grade families on their road to a higher education.
