Scott C. Taylor retired in 2020 after working for more than 20 years in leadership roles at several technology companies in Silicon Valley, most recently serving as executive vice president and general counsel of NortonLifeLock (f/k/a Symantec Corporation). He has considerable public, private and non-profit board governance experience, and he currently serves on the boards of Piper Sandler, Ziff Davis and Common Sense Media, among others. Scott is passionate about expanding educational opportunities in Silicon Valley and is excited to support FCE in its mission to positively impact the lives of low-income students of color in the area. Scott received a B.A. in International Relations from Stanford University and a JD from the George Washington University Law School.
As a person of color who has benefited greatly from receiving financial aid to attend Stanford, I personally understand the transformative power a four-year college degree can have on the trajectory of a student’s life. I particularly appreciate that FCE creates and fosters a community of support among students and family as part of its process, and continues that support all the way through graduation from college. I’m excited to help FCE in its mission because there is a demonstrated need for its services and, I hope and believe, an opportunity to continue to grow and expand those services given the wealth and opportunities present in the Silicon Valley.
