Asra Hussain, MA
Director of Programs
Asra Hussain first started working with underrepresented students during her undergraduate years at UCLA. After graduating, she continued to work in education, serving the East and South Bay Area youth. In 2012, she obtained her master’s in counseling from Santa Clara University.
In her previous role at Foundation for a College Education as Program Manager, Asra managed high school transition programming, working with grade 9 and grade 10 families. Understanding the significance of foundational skills, Asra’s work focuses on soft skill development and mental health awareness. Since 2018, she has secured funding for various programs to make higher education more attainable and accessible. In 2023, she was promoted to Director of Programs to oversee all FCE programs, such as College Bound and College Success for high school and college students. Asra has around 10 years of relevant experience (8 at FCE) serving underserved youth, demonstrating a deep commitment to their growth & success. Asra’s career has predominantly centered on providing academic counseling for low-income students of color.
